Unlocker Assistant helps unlock files locked by operating system permissions or other issues. The program automatically launches if you are trying to delete/rename/move a file that is locked. When not in use, it stays in your system tray bar. Additionally, individual locked files and folders may be drag-and-dropped onto unlocker.exe.Alternatively, Unlocker Portable (beta) is a launcher-only version of Unlocker.
Is this still available? I clicked on the portable download from the website, which redirected me to a download site, which redirected me to another download site... about half a dozen sites later with no download in sight, one of them finally tried to get me to download and install a dodgy "Download Software Manager" app. I gave up at that point.

@ legnakrad: This is what I said re the eBay thingy but we were talking about portable use and not the installation. The whole idea here is portability and if you don't want an installation then the best way is to use the portable installer through the link I provided.
@ melmitts: yes, there is something in the new version to do with eBay handler or something that will try to connect to the net. My understanding is that this is not present in the portable version though. I used the installer version but extracted it and only used the required files together with the unlocker portable installer from PortableApps (which has the advantage of keeping the Unlocker right-click context menu entry): Hope this helps.
The alternative portable package optimized for USB is an AutoIt Wrapper created by Wraithdu which adds Unlocker to the Right-click menu by registering the UnlockerCOM.dll (shell extension), which as of this writing the 'Official' version does not. To unregister the extension and clean-up the reg entries simply Right-click the tray icon and exit.
Linux: there's an experimental deb package included that should work on debian-derived (ubuntu included) systems. It uses the std::experimental::filesystem for compatibility. After install, runsudo auto-unlockerinside a folder of your choice. Backups and tools will be placed in backup and tools folders inside the working directory. If you want to uninstall, cd into the same directory as before and run sudo auto-unlocker --uninstallIf it doesn't work, then compile following the README instructions and run

A Portable Miner is a small, portable version of a Miner. As the first available mining machine, it is used to semi-automate the mining process in the early-game. It can be crafted at the Equipment Workshop after completing the Tier 0 Milestone - HUB Upgrade 1. It requires no fuel nor power. It has no Conveyor Belt connections which means its mining process cannot be fully automated.
It is advised to place several Portable Miners in an arc shape so that the pioneer is not required to move around when interacting with the next portable miner. As soon as the Storage Container is unlocked, build it next to the mining site for ore-buffering.

A portable application can be run from a removable drive (USB flash drive, iPod, portable hard drive, etc) on any Windows computer without installation.You will carry the program with settings on removable drive and don't modify settings on host computer.On Vista and above turn off User Account Control (UAC) or run launcher as admin.
The app behavior is different from last version, I used to run it and then I could unlock any file using its context menu plus I could set UNLOCKER as a startup app from its tray icon. Now I have to run unlocker and navigate to the file I want to unlock and I can't even drag and drop a file, that's kind of unproductive. I wonder why EmptyLoop made this change.
No change in behavior.For symmetry with 64 bit (wich have no assistant), launcher run now main exe (start with browse window) but start assistant on 32 bit (tray icon).In both architecture Unlocker is in explorer context menu while main exe is running (32 bit assistant launched before and killed after).This is not portable to have assistant on startup: in this case better to install it.
Hi Bernat, you're really the savior... this freeware has the latest portable release of v1.9.0 in 2010.
